M.Cooper Overalls dates back to 1908 when Morris Cooper, a self-taught tailor established a small workshop on Middlesex Street in East London under the name M.Cooper Overalls.
1914
During the First World War, the company supplied the British army with uniforms. M.Cooper became known for the toughness and durability of its products.
1932
The product focused on workwear and artisan clothing, producing denim trousers, work jackets and various types of overalls, ranging from a butchers’ apron to a carpenter’s bib n brace.
1940
With the sudden death of Morris Cooper in 1940, M.Cooper led a quiet existence for the remainder of the war years, until his son Harold Cooper took the helm.
1946
Following the Second World War, rationing for clothing was still in full force with the ‘make do and mend it’ campaign.
The brand quickly saw the potential for casual wear which only cost 1 of a person’s 30 coupon allocation – a suit was 25 coupons.
2016
The M.Cooper name and trademark remained in the Cooper family and the brand was reborn.
